Pullen Names Communications Chief Mecum tapped to run PR for state GOP


Phoenix, AZ – Randy Pullen, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, announced today the appointment of Brett Mecum as AZ GOP Communications Director. “I am thrilled that Brett has agreed to join our team,” said Pullen. “Brett brings a wealth of communication and political experience to the job. As Communications Director, he will be an integral part of spreading the Republican message of lower taxes, less government, and safe communities to all Arizonans.”


“I am honored to serve Chairman Pullen and look forward to promoting the Republican agenda as we work to move the Party forward,” said Mecum. “With the issues on our side and the right message you can expect this Republican Party to win election after election in every corner of Arizona.”


Before joining the AZ GOP, Mecum founded Mecum & Associates, LLC, a professional consulting firm specializing in campaigns and elections based out of Albany, NY. During the 2006 election cycle, Mecum was instrumental in developing and implementing a highly successful “Get Out The Vote” effort for the New York Senate Republican Campaign Committee (SRCC).


Through his efforts with SRCC, Republicans decisively held the majority in the New York State Senate.Throughout his political career, Mecum has advised and worked with many personalities and organizations: The New York Republican State Committee, NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Rockland County Executive & Lt. Governor candidate C. Scott Vanderhoef, former Yonkers Mayor & U.S. Senate candidate John Spencer, former Congressman & U.S. Senate candidate Rick Lazio, congressional candidate Dr. David Walrath, NoInternetTax.org and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms among others.


A native of Waterloo, New York, Mecum is a 2001 graduate of the State University of New York at Albany.
